A while back I found my way to Mississippi for no real reason other than it's a place. Turns out Jackson has the highest murder rate in the country and the grocery store I went to had no milk. Which about sums up that trip.

Two months later I was back in Mississippi. I found a coastal city called Biloxi on a map. It looked to be about halfway between my dad's house in Florida and my mom's house in Texas. Also it had casinos. And one of those was a Boyd property that I was able to get 3 complimentary nights at. Solid.

In Biloxi I just worked and pokered.

First night was a $1/$3 game sober. I didn't play all that great but it was a really soft game. At the end of the night I hero called correctly with queen high and incinerated one man's brain. +$500

Second night I went down the road to the Beau Rivage and jumped into their $2/$5 game, still sober. That game played huge and was a bit tougher. I was more dialed in there. Didn't get paid off on a value jam that was for over $1,000 and I think likely the biggest bet I've ever made in a poker game. Anyway still left +$1100.

Third night I stayed in at the IP and tried but mostly failed to get drunk drinking complimentary beers in the $1/$3 game. This is one turned depressing as poker cash game always inevitably does. Players dropping by to lose $100 or $200 and leave dejected. When I called it a night +$500 the remaining degens were just bitter that money was leaving the table. I guess that was my best performance of the week. Practice makes perfect.
